Integrated Viewpoint Training for Opera Singers.

From 6th till 11th July 2015, the Jekerstudio organizes the Integrated Viewpoint Training for Opera Singers at the Maastricht Theatre Academy.

This international workshop is led by Gemma Visser, singing master. She takes care of the coaching and training of the singers and collaborates with Jan van Opstal, viewpoint expert, theatre maker and senior teacher at the Maastricht Theatre Academy, and Ludger Engels, opera and theatre director, i.e. in Berlin and Aachen.

The workshop is aimed at the mastery and integration of the three levels of concentration, with which singers in the contemporary opera practice are being confronted: movement, singing and acting. In contemporary opera, a lot is being demanded from singers, especially on the integration of these three elements in the performance.

The workshop is meant for singers who already have some years of experience in the professional practice and who want to develop themselves further, artistically and professionally.

For the application, recommendation from opera houses and directors will be appreciated.

At this moment this workshop is fully booked!
Application is only possible for the waiting list. You can do this by sending an e-mail to:

European Opera Academy 2014 postponed

Unfortunately we have made the decision to cancel the 2014 edition of the European Opera Academy. The number of enrolments was lower than we expected, partly due to the fact that we could only start the promotion and recruitment on a late term.  Many potential participants already made other plans and had other appointments in June/July 2014.
The low amount of participants also has consequences for the financial coverage of the project, we were not able to establish a balanced budget.
As a result, we decided to postpone the edition 2014 and move it to 2014/2015.
We will keep you updated on new initiatives of the European Opera Academy for the season 2014/2015.
